Just a quick catch up;
- finished work for the year on the 24th December (more experience under my belt)
- Christmas was splendid; delicious food, quality time with family & spoilt with gifts!
- New Years is just around the corner: one more sleep and I'm ready for the new year ! It means new beginnings, new opportunities and new goals to smash.!
-I've created my goals list: 12 goals in 12 months. and I'm already half way through one of them! Feeling super accomplished!!
As we lead into the new year, I thought it was probably time to ponder on the year that has just past. Was it eventful? Was it difficult? Was it fun? Was it easy? I'm sure it was all of these things and more!
One thing I have realised is: I could have definitely handled situations in a more orderly fashion. I could have been a bit more organised, a little less frustrated, a little more dedicated and committed and a little less judgmental.
Today I came across this cute list in my latest ShopTilYouDrop Magazine, written by June Daily-Watkins, the doyenne of manners and etiquette. It made me think, I am going to follow each and every one of these commandments in 2011, all benefiting myself & changing the person who I am.

1. You are judged by your first impression. The memory of bad manners lasts forever.
2. True beauty comes from within. Not from the amount of make-up or way-out clothes worn.
3. Style beats fashion every time. And it lasts forever.
4. Don't let fashion overpower you. Know what is acceptable. Don't just be a copier.
5. Be advised on the best colours for you. Are you spring, summer, autumn or winter?
6. Shorts are for the beach. You lower your standards by wearing them in the city or on special occasions. (ok this is partially true, we live in the sunshine state and shorts are vital!)
7.Stiletto shoes are trendy, but dangerous. They can cause much damage to feet, ankles and knees.
8. Wearing brief clothes does not give out a good impression. Lots of people, especially men, will look at you, but not for the right reasons.
9. Etiquette simply means good manners. Know how to conduct yourself in various situations, including how to eat at the dinner table, how to hold a long-stemmed glass, and how to eat a bread roll.
10. Our voice is an important part of us. Take note of how yours sounds.
These are all absolutely true. It's time to finally act like the proper lady you are but of course still have fun. Change doesn't all have to be bad, it can be beneficial, life changing and mind altering. Life is short remember.
Be whoever it is you want to be, or better yet,
be yourself, because everyone else is already taken.
Gros bisous
