Floods have inundated Ipswich, Toowoomba and the Central Brisbane District including surrounding suburbs, affecting the lives of THOUSANDS, with their homes snatched away in an instant.
Unfortunately, these summer floods could be worse than those witnessed in 1974, with Tuesday being significant, today worse, and Thursday, disastrous.
What truly amazes me is the strong, positive and will powered spirit the Brisbane community has, in order to get through this devastating time to each and every single person who lives in this beautiful city. It breaks my heart to hear the constant news coverage, revealing more bad news every time I turn the tv on, missing people, persons considered in grave situations and those have tragically died.

All I can suggest is for everyone to pull their weight in, open their hearts and dig deep. Give a helping hand, volunteer or even donate. Every single cent counts!Dear mother nature, we hope you wake up on the right side of the bed tomorrow.
Hopes, thoughts and prayers to all of my Brisbanians, we will get through this together.
Kudos to Anna Bligh & Lord Mayor Campbell Newman for handling this situation with such utter calm and grace.
